Our calendars forecast that tomorrow evening a rare and beautiful celestial spectacle awaits us.

As we prepare to remember Julie on her first heavenly birthday, it feels especially poignant that, on the Glorious Twelfth, the heavens themselves promise to proclaim a story of light. A sunset eclipse will gently soften the light of day, and as night falls, the Perseid meteor shower will scatter its brilliance across the darkness.

Tomorrow, though oceans separate us, family in the UK and in North America will lift their eyes to the same heavens, sharing the same wonder beneath the same stars (weather permitting…).
An eclipse reminds us that light is never truly lost. It may be hidden from our sight for a little while, but it continues to shine beyond what our eyes can see. And so it is with love.
Julie, your passing into glory may veil your presence from our eyes, but it cannot diminish the love and light you brought to our lives.
You had an amazing ability to bring sunshine wherever you went. Your warmth, your laughter, your fun-loving, generous heart and your radiant spirit had a way of making even ordinary days feel brighter. More than that, you made people feel seen, heard, accepted and deeply valued.

Tomorrow night, as the meteors grace the darkness with their brief and brilliant beauty, we will remember the countless ways your life illuminated ours. Your vibrant energy, your courage, your unwavering love for Nate, your precious kids, your family, and your friends—these are the lights that continue to shine – each one a sparkling memory.
Like starlight travelling across the heavens, your love continues to reach us, reminding us that it endures beyond what we can see.

As we look to the skies, may we feel united—not only with one another across the UK and in North America, but also with you, whose love continues to shine in every life you touched. Beneath the shared starry sky, we will remember you with grateful hearts.
There may be tears too, because hearts broken open by such a depth of love cannot help but spill. Yet alongside those tears runs a stream of thankfulness for the precious gift of knowing you. In both grief and gratitude, we find comfort in the river of love that connects us all, across every distance, earthly and heavenly.
On this first heavenly birthday, Julie, we celebrate you. We give thanks for every memory, every smile, every kindness, and every moment of love that continues to bless us still.
Julie, your story does not end with your passing into glory. It lives on in the lives continuing to shape and grow, the family forever cherished, and in every heart made brighter simply because you were part of it.
Happy birthday in the presence of the One who calls the stars by name.
“Now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.” — 1 Corinthians 13:12

Until that glorious day when we meet again, may we continue to look towards the heavens with hope, hold one another with love, and carry your bright light in our hearts wherever we go.
Happy heavenly birthday, Julie.
We love you so much 💖
Always remembered. Forever shining.
